At Singh Tutt Notary Public, we serve the Indian community at a national and local level.   we have extensive expertise in drafting and notarising Affidavits for use in India.  We are also able to tailor Affidavits to a client's specific needs or to Indian Government/High Commission/Consulate requirements in the United Kingdom.  We shall endeavour to deal with your matter as efficiently as possible and we are more than aware that you will often be under time constraints and may need to get your papers notarised as a matter of urgency.

Our list of types of Affidavits which include all of the following is not exhaustive.  We have listed below the most common scenarios for your ready information.  We can draft an affidavit to meet you requirements if not listed below.     

 

​It may be the case that........

  • You went to the Indian High Commission and  you are required to make an Affidavit in support of your application which needs notarisation 

 

  • You need to renew your Indian Passport - and it has recently expired within a year of its expiry date

 

  • You need to renew your Indian Passport - and it has expired for more than a year past its expiry date

       

  • You have lost your Indian passport

  • You have damaged your Indian Passport

   

  • You are applying for the first Indian passport of your child who is a minor.

   

  • You are renewing the passport of your child who is a minor

 

  • You went to the Indian high Commission and you were told that either your appearance, name or signature has changed.

 

  • You went to the Indian High Commission and were informed that you require to fill in certain    forms to aid your application.

 

  •  You went to the Indian High Commission and  you are required to make an Affidavit in support of your application which needs notarisation

 

  •  You went to the Indian High Commission and  you are required to make an Statutory                Declaration in support of your application which needs notarisation

  •  You wish to return to India but you are not in possession of your Indian passport, and you need    to notarise documents in support of your application for an emergency slip

​

  •  You need to make an affidavit in relation to land, property, assets, monies, inheritance, probate  matters and other matters in India

Identification

Requirements & Useful Infomation

You must contact us and arrange an appointment so that we can attend upon you and take your instructions in person.  We cannot take instructions through a third party.

 

If your have mobility or health issues, we can visit you to attend upon you, take instructions and if required to draft and notarise a Power of Attorney.  We can visit your home, at hospitals, care home or wherever you require us to attend

 

Each person appearing before the notary public to sign any document shall need the following forms of identification and items:

 

  • A valid passport

(In the event that you do not hold a valid passport, the notary public shall advise you accordingly)

 

  • A Valid Photo card Driving Licence

​

  • One proof of postal address which is no more than three months old.  You can use either of the following:  

 

  • A utility bill

 

  • A bank statement

 

  • A letter received in the post from either a Doctor, Hospital or any other person or               organisation.

​

Note that ID and additional requirements depend on the type of Affidavit you require and its purpose.
